Tools and Fittings:Cross-headed screwdriver, hacksaw, adjustable spanner, water pump pliers.Taps, sink and waste fittings, sanitary silicone sealant, 15mm push fit flexi tap connectors. When you are going to replace a sink with a new unit, the space should be measured very carefully. If required, extend the nearby hot and cold water supply pipes so that you can connect them to the inlets of the new taps. It is quite likely that you may also need to lengthen the existing waste outlet pipes to meet up with the trap of the new sink. You can then proceed. If you are not confident doing this particular task it should be left to a professional plumbing service like Chelsea Plumbers who guarantee their work and can fit all types of new sink units. Construct the tap in line with the manufacturer’s instructions, and attach the pipes to the correct inlets. Sit the tap in the hole of the sink unit including washers or back-plates shown in the manufacturers diagram. Fit the retaining clips to the underside lip of the sink, spacing evenly. Squeeze a continuous bead of sanitary silicon sealant around the outer edge of the sink unit. A Chelsea Plumber is qualified to fit all appliances.Turn the unit over carefully and rest it in the hole that is cut out for it in the worktop. Work from the underside, and tighten the screws on each retaining clip. Make sure that you do not over tighten. Put the waste pipes and trap together. Put rubber rings onto the waste couplings. Fit the waste coupling to the outlet on the underside of each sink bowl. Join the hot and cold water supply pipes to the tap pipes with flexible push fit connectors. Connect the overflow pipe between the sinks overflow outlet and the inlet below the bowl and turn on the water supply, checking for any leaks, and re-tighten the joints as required.
