The Heating System

The domestic heating system fitted in our homes can sometimes seem very complicated, so here is a quick tour of the system with a brief introduction to some important parts and what they do. The first thing we come across is the boiler which is the very heart of any heating system, supplying all your hot water so it is important that there are problems with it. If it is a combi-boiler does not need tanks or pipework up in the loft. It is also really economical as it only heats the up water as it is needed. You need to make sure you keep all the details for the boiler and its system. This is in case you need the model number, year, or any serial numbers. These details are normally on a plate on the boiler. A sealed system has an expansion cylinder that allows the hot water to expand safely as it heats. This type of system will have a small pressure gauge somewhere on the central heating boiler. Next, are the veins of the system, most domestic central heating systems these days use 35mm copper pipework to feed the radiators. The water is pumped around and diverted by convection to each radiator. Chelsea Plumbers use skilled tradesmen and can install different systems. The water in some systems is pumped via a circulating pump. The cylinder uses gravity to circulate its water down to the radiators and boilers can circulate hot water to a cylinder to heat its contents via a heat exchanger. A Chelsea Plumber carries all the correct tools for any plumbing job. Sometimes a very black and sludge type mass can form and lie at the bottom in the bottom of radiators. This will reduce the water flow around the system and also reduce their efficiency. This can cause rust to form in the radiators. There are chemical additives and inhibitors for sale that clean and protect a system once it is refilled.
